About Facelift
A Facelift is also known as Rhytidectomy.
Aging gracefully means being confident in your own skin. The goal of a facelift is to help you achieve just that.
Once you’ve decided that a facelift procedure is the best fit to properly address your unique needs and concerns, your surgeon and the medical team will also have a conversation with you about your recovery during the pre-op appointment and on the day of your surgery.
The recovery period after facelift surgery is vital to achieving your long-term aesthetic goals as the surgery itself. And if you are not sure where to start, ContourMD® can help. The design of our facelift compression garments are tailored to compliment your aesthetic desires and individual facial anatomy. ContourMD© provides high-quality facelift compression garments that will cater to your individual needs with compassionate comfort, body contour and soothing relief to the skin.

Benefits
A facelift compression garment can provide optimal results for your facial and neck contour. It can minimize the appearance of scarring and help reduce complications. However, depending on the surgical techniques, your aesthetic goals and individual anatomy, the healing process can vary widely between patients.
Some of the overall benefits of wearing a facelift compression garment includes improving blood circulation, managing fluids, optimizing and decreasing recovery time, less pain and discomfort during the healing process, reducing swelling and bruising, and shaping and contouring your results.
ContourMD© compression garments are designed to comfortably assist in your journey to recovery.
- Soft-Knitted
- 55% Lycra Spandex Material
- Antimicrobial Finish
- Adjustable, Custom Fit
- Maximum, High-Quality Compression
Facelift Surgery
When your surgical procedure is finished, a compression garment is placed by the surgeon or someone from the medical team. The surgeon prescribes pain medication(s) to minimize any discomfort after surgery. Patients will experience some swelling and bruising, but this will subside within a couple of weeks. Depending on your surgeons instructions, it usually takes several days to recover, and can usually return to work within two weeks after surgery. It is important to refrain from exercise or any strenuous activity during the first two to four weeks of recovery. There will be noticeable and immediate improvement to the facial area after surgery, but it take up to a full year to see your final results.
What is a Facelift?
Before you can understand how a facelift compression garment works, it will be helpful to have a better understanding of the procedure itself. Essentially, facelifts are a common surgical procedure (performed in the hundreds of thousands each year by surgeons across the world) that help to drastically improve the outward appearance of a patient’s age. Namely, it targets sagging skin and wrinkles that can’t be treated by less invasive procedures such as Botox, fillers, or even laser procedures. Afterwards, with the proper facelift compression garments for healing and the right maintenance and aftercare, patients can enjoy the results of their facelift for the next 10 to 15 years!
Facelift surgery can manage and help with the following cosmetic concerns:
- Excess skin along the jawline
- Laxity in the skin of the neck
- Creases near the corners of the mouth (also known as "Marionette lines")
- Sagging skin in the mid-face
